doctor with clip board

Following the Montgomery Case in March 2015 all doctors must now take “reasonable care to ensure that the patient is aware of any material risks involved in any recommended treatment, and of any reasonable alternative or variant treatments.” This conference will carry on the debate and raise issues on the case law and its application in a clinical negligence setting. Extensive duty of care of ‘the curious patient’ will be highlighted, as well as ensuring standards are met in expert reporting. The Training and Guidance framework will be explained by the General Medical Council and illustrated case studies from the ward will enable you to put theory into practice and consolidate your learning.
