AvMA seeks specialist clinical negligence volunteers

Published: 8 Jun 2016

Are you interested in specialising in clinical negligence work and looking for a training contract or pupillage? If so, you may wish to consider volunteering with AvMA.

We have wide contacts with both solicitors firms and the bar who specialise in this field, although we cannot offer you an introduction we host many events which bring the professions together and provide good networking opportunities. We can also offer relevant experience which may improve your CV.

We are currently looking for a volunteer who has successfully completed the Bar Vocational Course or the solicitors Legal Practice Course to help us with a project we are running with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

In the next few months the CQC are expected to put out a tender for work which involves helping to increase the understanding and awareness of the standards the public has a right to expect whenever they receive care. We are pleased to confirm that we have a strong record of being successful in securing CQC tenders and remain positive that this relationship will continue.

If AvMA is successful in securing future CQC tenders then we will formally advertise for a Data Administrator, this position is likely to be advertised in about September 2016 and is expected to offer a salary of about £18,000 gross per annum. Volunteers who have experience of the existing AvMA/CQC work would be eligible to apply.

If you are interested in volunteering with us and learning more about this role then please contact Lisa O’Dwyer by email sending in a copy of your current CV and a brief outline of why you are interested in volunteering with us by no later Friday 8th July.
