The Annual Complaints & Redress Conference
6 October 2010, Woburn House, London
Action against Medical Accidents' (AvMA) Annual Complaints & Redress Conference is now in its fourth year and will examine how the NHS is faring one year on from the new complaints procedure. As well as feedback from the Ombudsman, we will have the very latest on the Department of Health's position on complaints and redress. The day also looks in detail at the new approach for redress in Wales and potential lessons for the rest of the UK.
You will hear from a variety of leading experts on NHS Complaints and priorities for improvement including best (and not so good) practice, possible implications of the Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust review, complaints and parallel processes (such as SUI's, litigation and inquests), support and advocacy for patients, and developing and supporting NHS Complaints staff.
This vital event will benefit all staff working on complaints, clinical governance/risk management, PALS, ICAS and patient groups and there will be opportunities for networking throughout the day with questions from the floor after each presentation to encourage lively debate.
This event should not be confused with commercial profit-making events on similar subjects. This conference is organised by AvMA which has over 25 years experience of work on complaints, redress and patient safety, and any profits from this event go back into funding AvMA's charitable work, giving support for people affected by medical accidents.
