England: Independent Complaints Advocacy Service
Local help with NHS complaints in EnglandThree voluntary organisations have been contracted by the Department of Health to provide Independent Complaints Advocacy Services (ICAS) for people with complaints about the NHS. ICAS staff should be able to support you in making complaints about any aspect of the NHS, and may help compose letters and accompany you to meetings. It is often usefull to use the NHS complaints procedure before deciding on any further action. Where independent clinical or medico-legal advice is needed, this will usually require more specialist help from an AvMA caseworker.
The contact numbers for local providers of ICAS are given below. Please note that the arrangements that had originally been put in place for AvMA to work with ICAS and its clients providing easier access to our more more specialist service are no longer being funded. You will need to contact AvMA directly if you need our level of help. |
