Gerry Marr

Gerry Marr is chief operating officer at NHS Tayside where he is considered to have transformed the safety of care that patients receive, through his strong leadership and commitment to patient safety. He involved NHS Tayside in the Health Foundation’s Safety Patient Initiative, leading a team to devise a programme of 41 measures to reduce adverse events by 50% in two years and a reduction of 71% in harmful events.
