International Work
Whilst AvMA is a charity which focusses its work on the UK, we also work with stakeholders internationally to promote better patient safety and justice.
AvMA is a collaborating orgnisation with the World Health Organisation (WHO) World Alliance for Patient Safety. AvMA's chief executive Peter Walsh is a patient safety 'champion' appointed through the WHO patients for patient safety programme. AvMA also manages the Patients for Patient Safety project for England and Wales in partnership with the National Patient Safety Agency. This project recruits trains and supports more patient safety champions who are primarily focussed on England & Wales but are also part of the WHO initiative.
