Liz Thomas

Liz joined AvMA in 1989. During her time at AvMA, Liz has been involved in all aspects of AvMA's work. Having spent the first two years working almost exclusively on the telephone responding to enquiries from patients, Liz then moved on to head up the casework department. She has given talks and written articles on a range of topics including client care, NHS Complaints and medical accidents within the independent healthcare sector. In 1998, Liz jointly edited a consumer's book, 'The Medical Accidents Handbook - A Practical Guide for Patients and their Advisors' with Paul McNeil of Field Fisher Waterhouse. As Head of Policy & Research, Liz is responsible in conjunction with the Chief Executive, for developing and promoting AvMA's policy work. Liz also oversees the administration of the AvMA Referral Panel.
