Medico-Legal Issues in Infectious Diseases

22 September 2010 (am), Woburn House, London

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Despite the extensive use of antibiotics and antiviral agents, infectious diseases continue to claim human lives worldwide on a major scale. The situation is considerably better in the UK than in less developed countries but infection still remains a significant cause of concern, with potentially life-threatening consequences.

This half day seminar on the morning of 22 September enables you to obtain both the medical expert and legal practitioner's views on neonatal meningitis and hepatitis C, which will be followed by practical working groups focusing on consolidating your learning through case reviews.  Disease cases will be investigated, putting into context the sociological aspects of epidemics which can affect clinical negligence cases.
