Medico Legal Adviser

Advice and Information Services

£27,234- £28,298

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly Advice and Information team, which provides a written casework service, telephone advice, information and guidance to the public on medical and legal issues. Trends and issues identified from the work of the Advice and Information Service helps to inform AvMA’s campaigning agenda and policy development. We also liaise with and exchange advice and information with other organisations on common issues of interest.

Educated to degree level or its equivalent, the candidate will have a medical background or sound knowledge and understanding of medical issues. Helpline experience and knowledge/or experience of clinical negligence law would be an advantage but training will be given.

The ability to communicate effectively and sensitively both verbally and in writing is essential. As is the ability to carry out research and analyse detailed written information. Experience of advice work and knowledge of health service issues would also be an advantage.

This is a full time post (35 hours) although job share will be considered for the right candidates.
