Hugh Williams, Deputy Chief Executive
Hugh joined AvMA as deputy chief executive in January 2002.
He is a barrister who originally was called to the bar in 1978 and became dual qualified as a solicitor in 1995. He came to AvMA from Hammersmith and Fulham Law Centre where he worked for 17 years both representing clients and helping manage the centre. He has experience in tribunal work and county and high court litigation.
The range of work AvMA undertakes gave Hugh the opportunity to remain involved with advice and information services as well to help with campaigning issues including access to justice and patient safety. Working with colleagues he helps manage all of AvMA ‘s activities including AvMA‘s specialist clinical negligence panel, conferences and AvMA’s lawyers service.
