Richard Follis

Richard has been helping victims of medical accidents for 37 years having specialised for the last 27 of those. He only acts for patients or their families.

He has won claims for compensation ranging from minor injury to severe brain damage. He has always undertook a broad range of cases – out of choice – believing that all victims of medical accidents deserve access to experienced advice.

He has advised families about Inquests for most of his career including regulalry appearing as advocate before Coroners with and without a jury. For 8 years he was national head of the Shoosmiths Clinical Negligence team.

He has also conducted multi party, pharmaceutical and catastrophic injury litigation and has appeared pro bono to represent complainants before the GMC and give evidence before the H&CPC.

He is a past President of Birmingham Law Society and has been an AvMA panel member since 1991.
