  • “Duty of candour” could allow misdiagnosis to be covered up unless changes are made

    AvMA’s Response_to the Department of Health consultation on the Duty of Candour regulations calls for changes to ensure that cases of known late or misdiagnosis that may lead to harm being caused need to be brought to patients’ attention.  AvMA believe that the way that the regulations are currently drafted to not cover such circumstances.

    We assisted the family of Peter Watson in preparing for the Inquest and arranged legal representation for them, which was kindly provided by Mr Pritesh Rathod, a barrister at 1 Crown Office Row.  The Coroner reached a conclusion of accidental death.  Click here for article
