Important information about our response to COVID-19

Information last updated on 9 July 2020

On Government advice AvMA staff and volunteers are now working from home wherever possible. We are doing our best to operate all of our activities as normal wherever possible but please see below for further details.

Calls to our helpline

Our helpline remains open for its usual hours of 10am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday on 0845 123 2352 (Calls cost 0-7p per minute plus your phone company’s access charge).

Our staff and volunteers will be working safely from home and will still be able to answer your calls and provide expert advice and support. We will be monitoring the situation as it develops and hope to be able to continue a full service throughout. However, it may sometimes take a little longer for you to be able to get through to an adviser, and it may become necessary to limit the helpline’s hours in the future. Please be assured that we will be doing everything we safely can to maintain a full service to you.

Please do take advantage of our online self-help guides which have clear and straightforward advice on a wide range of issues and are often the fastest way to get the information you need.

You can also contact us using our new client form. Please be aware that it may take longer than usual for us to respond.

We regret that we are not able to provide any advice over social media – please use the methods listed above.

Inquest service

Given the uncertain circumstances surrounding the recent COVID-19 outbreak and the associated government restrictions we have reluctantly taken the view that we are unable to assist by attending inquests or hearings with clients while the current government restrictions are in force. Please be assured that we will continue to provide advice, support and assistance by phone and in writing.
