Medical innovation bill remains a threat

Published: 30 Jun 2014

Lord Saatchi’s controversial Medical Innovation Bill survived the 2nd reading in the House of Lords on 27th June and will now progress to the committee stage.  AvMA and others have deemed the Bill dangerous and unnecessary and a threat to patient safety and justice.  Read Peter Walsh’s blog about the Bill.  Also see AvMA’s briefing on the Bill.

The Bill has some heavy-weight supporters and is backed by a well resourced, disingenuous and emotive media campaign.  AvMA urges all its supporters to use what influence they have and write to their MP asking for the Bill to be scrapped.
