New report calls for simplification of complaints system

Our conference on NHS Complaints held today covered a range of important changes to the complaints system and suggested good practice.  We announced that clear guidance had now been issued to the NHS to investigate complaints notwithstanding legal action.  This was as a result of our Judicial Review letter last year.  Healthwatch England also announced the publication of its reportdescribing the complexity of the current complaints system and sources of support.  There were renewed calls for a full Duty of Candour, an announcement about which is expected next week.  Our webinar on Duty of Candour can be viewed for free.
