Dr Andrews qualified in Oxford and London and was appointed Consultant Nephrologist in 1998. Since 2011, he has been Clinical Director of the SW Thames Renal & Transplantation Unit based at St Helier Hospital, Surrey and Clinical Lead at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey. He is Chair of the Standards Committee of the British Transplantation Society , an expert adviser to NICE, a member of the MRCP Part 2 Examination Board, and a former member of the BMA medicolegal committee. He has a busy medicolegal practice in the fields of nephrology, dialysis and transplantation and since 2010 has advised on complex cases with a potential claim value >£50M, including cases of medical manslaughter, Coroner’s cases and GMC referrals.
