Walking the Mourne Wall for AvMA

Jayne with her dad, Denny

I’m walking the Mourne Wall for AvMA

I need your support to raise much needed funds to help people affected by medical accidents

Jayne Doran

In November last year, my dad passed away from a massive and avoidable heart attack. Seven weeks before he died he sought medical help for crushing chest pains and was turned away. Feeling belittled and dismissed, dad never sought help again.

In my dad’s youth he completed the Mourne Wall Walk, a gruelling 22 mile climb over seven of the highest mountains in Northern Ireland. To thank AvMA for their support and to help families who have found themselves in similar situations, this July some comrades and I will be following in my dad’s footsteps.

Ambitious, we know. We are ready for intense blisters, shin splints and about 13 hours of listening to each other complain. But for my dad… we would do just about anything.
