Mr Amar Alwitry is a practising Consultant Ophthalmologist who holds a Masters in Medical Law and has an active interest in teaching. He has given numerous talks on Learning from Litigation and the intricacies of Litigation in Ophthalmology. He recently chaired a session at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ Annual Congress on Medicolegal Issues. He is a Specialty Advisor to the CQC on Ophthalmology and Medicolegal Editor for Eye News. He is currently writing a practical guide for health care students and professionals entitled ‘Complaints, Litigation and Clinical Errors’, which will be published next year.
