Dr Mir has worked in Academic Psychiatry, delivered many educational lectures, and co-authored several book chapters as well as research papers in peer-reviewed scientific publications. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Sheffield.
Since 2009 Dr Mir has been the Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist for the Sheffield Rotherham and Doncaster Perinatal Mental Health Service, a regional specialist Community service dedicated to care of pregnant and postnatal women with severe and complex mental health problems.
He is a MRCPsych Examiner for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a Governor of Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Mir has been an Expert Witness in General Adult and Perinatal Psychiatry since 2010, specialising in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, and has a particular interest in birth trauma and psychiatric disorders of the perinatal period.
