Tim is Head of Finance at Avma, leading the charity’s finance function and supporting the Chief Executive, leadership team, and board of trustees in the effective stewardship of the charity’s finances. He provides management information, financial advice, oversees financial planning, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance, helping to ensure the charity remains financially resilient and well governed.
Tim is a qualified accountant with more than 30 years’ experience in senior finance and executive leadership roles across the charity and commercial sectors. His career has included positions with Ellenor Hospice, the Children’s Society, Kidney Research UK, and Scope, where he has led finance, governance, and organisational improvement.
He has extensive experience of supporting trustees and executive teams to strengthen financial governance, improve organisational performance, and deliver long-term financial sustainability. Tim is committed to ensuring that Avma’s financial resources are managed effectively, supporting the charity to maximise its impact for people affected by avoidable harm in healthcare.
Away from work, Tim relaxes (or not!) by going on walks with his beagle. Has a passion for music, films, kayaking, sailing, and swimming.
