Matched giving

Matching donations by employees or for a specific campaign is one of the most direct and impactful ways you can support us.

What is matched giving?

Matched giving (also known as ‘match funding’) allows an organisation to double the impact of a particular set of donations by matching the amount given from their own funds.

There are a number of ways you can help through matched giving, including matching your employees’ donations during a particular time period or campaign, becoming a match-funding partner for a fundraiser we’re running, or simply agreeing to double all donations made on the Avma website during a certain time period.

Examples of matched giving campaigns

Matching employee donations

You could run a campaign at your workplace to encourage donations to Avma by agreeing to match every donation made during a certain period. Maybe you match all employee donations during a month or quarter up to a certain amount (e.g. you double donations up to £2,000 to make it £4,000).

“Double your impact” campaign

A popular type of matched giving involves a business agreeing to double all donations made online during a certain period, for example to mark a particular awareness week or month. This is a great option for collaborative marketing to maximise the impact for both organisations.

Match-funding for a project

If your business is interested in a particular area of our campaigning or support work, you could provide match-funding for a specific project. A great opportunity we currently have for this could be our HEARD by Avma project, for which you could match-fund donations for a co-design session.
