General support/admin volunteer

Help us with general administration, marketing and communications, fundraising, finance, events management, or medico-legal work.

About this role

  • Role title: General Support/Admin Volunteer
  • Department: various/dependent on specific tasks
  • Time commitment: This is a flexible role that can fit around your availability. There is no minimum time commitment, but ideally we’d encourage 2–3 hours per month. Opportunities to get involved will be shared with you to choose what feels right based on your time, interests, and confidence.

The aim of our general support/admin volunteer role is to help our staff team with the day-to-day running of Avma. You’ll help us run smoothly so that we can support as many people affected by medical harm as possible.

General support/admin volunteers play an important role in supporting with a variety of tasks across the charity, providing extra capacity for staff to work on new initiatives to improve the support and services we can offer.

With a can-do attitude and the ability to pick up tasks quickly, you’ll provide vital support which has a direct impact on those we support.

What this role involves

What you might do:

  • Help with administration tasks, including processing website forms submissions, emails, and other correspondence
  • Supporting the marketing team with content creation or editing
  • Sending out fundraising materials and answering enquiries
  • Checking financial spreadsheets or other documents
  • Corresponding with event attendees or helping at events
