Payroll giving

Donate to Avma from your monthly salary for an easy, efficient way to support the fight for patient safety and justice.

What is payroll giving?

Payroll giving (also known as “give as you earn”) is one of the easiest and most effective ways of donating to Avma. You simply tell your employer how much you want to give, then your donation is taken from your pay each month. And because it’s deducted from gross pay, before tax, it’s the cheapest way to donate to charity.

How does it work?

Payroll giving is cheaper for employees and more valuable for Avma. Here’s how giving through your salary helps both you and us.

Regular giving

If you wanted to donate £10 every month to Avma, you could head to our donation page and set that up using your bank card details.

The cost to you would be £10 per month. After fees, Avma would receive £9.65 per month. Over the course of a year, you’d pay £120 in total and Avma would receive £115.80 of this.

Payroll giving

If you instead chose to make that same monthly donation through payroll giving, you would only have £8 or £6 per month taken from your pay, depending on your tax rate.

And because payroll giving bypasses standard card processing fees, Avma will receive more of your donation (often up to 100%).

All you have to do is ask your employer about payroll giving. If they’re not already, they’ll need to sign up to a payroll giving agency, then you just need to ask them to set up a monthly gift to Avma. Our registered charity number is 299123.
