Dr Leyland is an experienced doctor and patient safety leader with a career spanning clinical practice, health technology, and healthcare consultancy. She is currently Clinical Lead – Patient Safety and Assurance, UK Health at Palantir, where she provides strategic clinical leadership for patient safety, clinical assurance, and governance.
In her current role, Harriet works with clinical, technical, and operational teams to ensure that patient safety is embedded throughout the design, implementation, and assurance of digital health technologies, including the NHS Federated Data Platform, supporting the safe adoption of innovative technologies across healthcare.
Previously, Harriet worked in consultancy across the NHS, government, and the private sector, leading programmes on digital transformation, patient engagement, and population health. Earlier in her career, she trained in the NHS as an anaesthetist and gained international experience in primary care and medical assistance. She has also served on the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service and is a fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management.
