Mary Smith

Mary is a medical negligence, inquest and human rights lawyer. She has over 13 years’ experience supporting victims of medical accidents and in representing families through inquest proceedings, and various other investigations and reviews.

Mary has been involved with AvMA since 2008, initially as a Lawyers Service Member and more recently, in highlighting the plight of non-COVID patients whose diagnosis and treatment has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mary focuses on clinical negligence and inquests at Novum Law, Bristol. She also sits on the Advisory Group for Harmed Patients Alliance and the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Editorial Board for the legal publisher, LexisNexis UK. She is married, with two children, a cat and a dog. When not working, Mary can be found in her native West Wales, riding or on the coast.
